The United Way of Northeastern Minnesota is delighted to offer a complimentary babysitter training program for youth aged 11 and older residing in Iron Range, Koochiching County, and Lake of the Woods County. This one-day course, led by Anna Amundson, the Mountain Iron Library Director and Events Coordinator, a certified American Red Cross instructor, will equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge for safe and responsible care of children and infants, including CPR training. The training session will run from 9 am to 4:30 pm, and participants must attend the full session to receive a certificate of completion, which will be emailed post-class. The class size is limited to 10 students to ensure personalized attention, and lunch and snacks will be provided. The parent or caregiver must arrange transportation and supervision for drop-off and pick-up. Funded by the Northland Foundation and the State of Minnesota, these sessions are crucial for anyone looking to build competence in childcare.
