OptimuMedicine pioneered the Advanced Critical Care Transport (ACCT) model in the Las Vegas valley. All of our A-CCT units are staffed with three clinicians including an EMT/AEMT, Paramedic, and an EMS-RN (Emergency Medical Services Registered Nurse). Staffing the ambulance in this configuration allows treatments started in the hospital to be continued uninterrupted throughout the transport. To accomplish this, all of our EMS-RNs have previous critical care experience (such as ER or ICU) and our paramedics have critical care flight or ground operations experience. The purpose of pairing these providers is to ensure that each patient receives an elevated level of prehospital treatment. Our commitment to require two providers with the patient during transport ensures each patient has the proper resources available should their condition deteriorate. Type 1 ambulances are each equipped with state-of-the-art technology including a ZOLL X monitor, Hamilton T1 ventilator, CMAC video laryngoscope, and two Minimed IV infusion pumps.
